About ISPLC

ISPLC has been running annually since 1997 as a worldwide forum for communications researchers and engineers to discuss issues relating to the use of electrical power distribution cables as a viable communication channel. An international meeting point for academics and industrial researchers as well as regulators, ISPLC now is the leading technical conference in the field of Power Line Communications (PLC) and the flagship event of the IEEE PLC Technical Committee. Contributions presented at ISPLC span all aspects of communications over power lines, including smart grid communications, networks and analytics; in-home broadband communications; green communications; multi-input multi-output (MIMO) communications; in-car communications; electric vehicle charging systems; and sensor networks.

The most recent editions of ISPLC have been held in Glasgow (Scotland, 2014), Johannesburg (South Africa, 2013), Bejing (China, 2012), Udine (Italy, 2011), Rio de Janeiro (Brazil, 2010) and Dresden (Germany, 2009). The 2015 event will take place in the downtown area of Austin, Texas USA.

The venue for ISPLC 2015 will take place in the Edgar A. Smith Building within the Blanton Museum of Art Complex on The University of Texas at Austin campus. Attendees will have free admission to Blanton Museum of Art with their conference badge.  Immediately across the street is the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum and 250m away is The State of Texas Capitol Building.

About Austin

Austin is the the Capitol of the State of Texas and the "Live Music Capital of the World".  It launched the music careers of Janis Joplin, Willie Nelson, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Charlie Sexton and Gary Clark, Jr., among many others.  In 1974, Willie Nelson was the first guest on Austin City Limits, which is the longest running music series in US television history.  Downtown Austin is particularly vibrant with over 40 clubs with live music every night.
